What is Somatic Breathwork™️?

Modern psychology works from a top down approach.  SBW works from a bottom up approach.  Bottom up meaning getting the negativity out of the body.

Modern science is showing that stress and negative emotions, whether they come from trauma or daily life, get stored and stuck in the body if they are not fully expressed.

If you don’t fully express stress and negative emotions they get stuck in your body and they wreak havoc on your nervous system.

If you don’t have the opportunity to fully express that emotion and get it out of your body it gets stuck, and will wreak havoc on your nervous system.  That is why a person can get stuck in “fight or flight” (sympathetic nervous system) and “react” in a way that is less desirable, to put it mildly.

So, when a trauma gets triggered that person just simply doesn’t have the capacity within their system to come from a “relaxation response”.  It becomes so hard to pause and respond in a healthy way because all of the stress, pressure, and negative emotions are taking up space within that person’s system.

SBW works as a hard reset for a person’s nervous system.

Modern society has conditioned us to suppress instead of express our emotions.

SBW gives people the space and opportunity to fully express themselves and clear out all of the negative emotions and stress that are taking up space within their system.

Once a person gets those negative emotions and stress out, they then can have a MUCH greater ability to respond instead of react.

What’s more,

because of the specific techniques that are used during SBW, it can help a person gain clarity.  Why?  Because there can be a greater capacity within their system.  Simply put, there are less things taking up space after being cleared out.

How often should I do Somatic Breathwork™️?

This really depends on the individual.  People that have a lot they want to clear out of their system can benefit from doing 2-3 sessions within the first 2 weeks and then go down to one session per month.

Other people with less stress and trauma can benefit from once per month.

How long is Somatic Breathwork™️?

Approximately 90 minutes.
